PURPOSE OF POSITION:
· To develop, modify, and/or maintain software applications used by staff in the ROU
· To identify requirements for registry software application enhancements
· To perform ROU data production operations including processing various transmit files from reporting facilities and preparing data for the Eureka DMS casefinding system
· To communicate with ROU and reporting facility staff regarding data flow and potential issues
· To provide technical assistance to users as needed
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Play a key role in new production system development of internal web and windows based applications using .Net, JavaScript, ASP, MS Access, SQL and a variety of other tools and languages
2. Write engineering and user documents such as FRD (function requirement document), design documents, test documents, release notes and user manuals
3. Compose test cases and test plans from specifications and code
4. Design, develop and support reporting solutions using SSRS
5. Analyze and document business problems and determine the most effective/efficient solution
6. Assemble new case files submitted from regional facilities or generated internally; validate and upload these files to the Eureka DMS system
7. Generate case upload reports for reporting facilities and ROU management
8. Evaluate user requests and monitor existing systems for shortcomings to identify new requirements or enhancements to Registry systems
9. Responsible for ROU end user support including installing new and maintaining existing software
10. Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required skills:
· BS Degree in computer science or the equivalent combination of education and experience
· Minimum of two years programming experience and working knowledge of fundamentals of systems analysis, coding, testing and documentation
· Excellent organizational and time management skills; attention to detail required
· Good working knowledge of SQL and .net
- Experience with design, editing, and programming across one or more platforms and languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Perl, Python, R, Ruby, Shell Scripting, CSS, HTML, HTML5), data structure fundamentals and relational databases, Big Data, Cloud Computing, (Hadoop/HBase/MapReduce), Linux system and networks
· Good working knowledge of database design and programming in MS Access 2007 and later
· Ability to develop strong business relationships with the user community
· Team player, with excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
· Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple concurrent projects
· Desire to learn and apply new technologies
Desired skills:
· Experience with medical systems and applications
· Experience with multi-tier WEB applications
· Knowledge of application server, database server, and business logic and workflow concepts
· Working knowledge of SQL Server 2014
