The interview process lasted about four hours in total with different interviewers. The coding interview was similar in difficulty to LeetCode easy problems, while the behavioral interview consisted of three randomly selected questions without follow-up discussions.

I was scheduled for an initial interview with HR, but the date kept getting changed several times. Eventually, the interview was cancelled without even checking with me. Then, all of a sudden, I received an email saying: “Thank you for taking the time to apply to the R233073 Senior Software Development Engineer - Services role. We have enjoyed learning more about you. However, we have decided to move forward with other candidates at this time.” The strange part is that I never even had a call with HR. It feels like a very odd hiring process. After seeing recent news about layoffs at Capital One, it seems they are cutting around 1,100 roles, which might explain the situation. Still, it’s disappointing not to receive a proper explanation.

I applied via a referral. The recruiter reached out and had an initial call just to give the code signal assessment. They ask for some verification documents also. I scored 560/600 on Code signal - General Coding Assessment - but did not move ahead. Rejected based on the assessment. Market is tough out there right now.
