I applied online. I interviewed at City of Calgary (Calgary, AB) in Apr 2025
Interview
Step one was a phone screen (15min) via teams. It felt like a mini interview, but it was moreso to align candidates with the job posting… I think. They asked questions that were framed like “have you ever had experience doing this….?” After that was a formal 1 hour interview with 8 questions. The first half of the questions were generic ones about why you want to work for the company, what interested you about the role…etc. The second half of the interview were all STAR method behavioural questions like “tell me about a time you made a mistake”, “tell me about a time you had to manage multiple priorities”…etc. No technical questions and friendly interviewers, but a formal process for sure.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at City of Calgary (Calgary, AB)
Interview
Typical entry-level position interview. Revolved around behavioral questions (STAR), nothing too technical. Interviewers were respectful and friendly, and asked to elaborate further on details of specific past work history examples.
