Made it through two rounds of interviews to be ghosted for an internal hire. No reasoning or anything. Seemed like they had previously identified the candidate, and I just wasted my time.

Interview
I’m hesitant to recommend interviewing here. The process was unclear despite my questions. I interviewed with the recruiter, hiring manager, and a panel of five. The interviews were mostly behavioral, with no technical questions. Feedback seemed positive, and I liked the team. I sent a thank-you email but got no response. After following up, I received an automatic rejection. When I asked for feedback, they said they liked me but only for a lower role (not currently open) and suggested I reapply. Overall, it felt like a waste of time and a bit performative since they didn’t ask meaningful questions. I’m unsure what would change if I tried again, but they were nice (just a bit time-wasty.)

Interview
Brief vetting interview with HR person then a 30 minute interview with the hiring manager.
The interview was nice enough but they have a super narrow view of what a product manager does, maybe even narrower than a typical product owner. Kind of a Bartleby the Scrivener existence. The PMs have almost no real contact with engineering, research, marketing, sales or even customers. The PMs don't attend conferences or appear in case studies, webinars, or anything public facing. No papers. It seems they kind of have given everyone very small, remote, bureaucratic jobs that pay slightly under-competitive salaries.
I told the HR person I would not be continuing.
