      Sales Associate Interview

      Apr 9, 2026
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Bakersfield, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Stryker (Bakersfield, CA) in Jan 2026

      Interview

The interview process at Stryker is structured and can be fairly lengthy, typically taking around 4–8 weeks. It begins with an initial recruiter phone screen focused on your background, interest in the company, and overall fit. This is followed by an interview with the hiring manager, where you can expect more in-depth behavioral questions and discussion of your experience. One of the most distinctive parts of the process is the Gallup interview, which is a strengths-based assessment designed to evaluate traits like competitiveness, work ethic, and resilience, and it plays a significant role in hiring decisions. Candidates who move forward then participate in multiple final-round interviews, which may include back-to-back conversations with team members, managers, and sometimes senior leadership, and occasionally a presentation depending on the role. Overall, the process is thorough and emphasizes cultural fit, energy, and consistency across interviews.

      Interview

There are 4-5 rounds of interviews. First is with a phone interview with a recruiter asking general questions about resume and company interest. Second is with hiring managers, the third is the Gallup, and fourth is final stage interviews with the team/managers.

      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Stryker in Mar 2026

      Interview

I had a very positive experience throughout the initial stages of the interview process, and the recruiter and earlier interviewers were professional and engaging. However, my experience changed significantly during the third round with the hiring manager. The hiring manager joined the interview and mentioned they had not yet reviewed my resume, which was surprising given the stage of the process and came across as condescending and not very respectful. Throughout the conversation, the tone felt dismissive and disengaged, and it did not feel like there was genuine interest in learning about my background or experience. The interaction came across as though a decision may have already been made prior to the interview. I was very excited about the opportunity going into the next round, so this was disappointing. I understand that hiring decisions can be competitive, but I believe candidates at this stage of the process deserve a level of preparation and engagement that reflects the time and effort they’ve invested.
