Questions included: 1) Are my parents divorced? 2) Do my parents have a good relationship? 3) How long have my parents been married to each other? 4) Do my parents donate to AIPAC, and if so, how much do they give annually? (If they did their research in advance, they'd know this before I stepped foot in the building.) 5) Do I have any siblings, and if so, do we get along? 6) When was the last time I cried? 7) Have I ever been to Israel? 8) When was the last time I visited Israel?
"We only have about 15 minutes, tell me about yourself"
None. The hiring manager and the person I would be replacing looked like either they were convinced I was the best qualified person for the position or they already had made up their mind to hire someone else before I showed up. The duty of the position was about 1/5 of the duties I performed really well at a previous and much smaller company where I was a jack of all trade which may have been obvious to them and perhaps disqualified me for the job. Before I left, I was told that there would be a second interview for those selected which contradicted the earlier statement made by HR over the phone.
How would I encourage resistant business offices who wanted to redesign the system yet were unable to translate their needs into technical requirements.
They kept concentrating on the fact that I had not specifically managed the skillset of the employees I would be taking on and wanted to know how I could possibly be effective.
