Pros

-Great culture -Decent benefits, though missing 401k match -Decent flexibility in schedule -A solid product and historical customer base -No major layoffs in recent years

Cons

-Communication: leadership is rapidly losing touch with the employee experience, and what the needs and pain points of their teams are. Box really suffers from a situation of "left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing." Even within GTM, teams which work together every day don't communicate, and their respective leaders aren't on the same page -Unclear strategy: leadership is pushing to move at a faster and faster pace, without reflecting on what is an isn't working. Employees are being asked to do more work, while not receiving better pay or benefits, and satisfaction is dropping fast -Lack of advancement opportunity: promotions move incredibly slowly, as does compensation - pay is decently benchmarked, but lagging behind the industry -Required 3x a week in-office, even though a poll of the company showed the majority of workers would prefer otherwise, an old-fashioned mindset

Pros

- Strong company vision with a compelling product - Talented and supportive colleagues across many teams - Culture and values are well articulated and genuinely positive on paper - Roles offer a good level of autonomy and exposure to senior stakeholders

Cons

- Ownership is emphasized, but in practice responsibilities can feel uneven, with some functions carrying more pressure and less support - Success and experience can vary significantly depending on team and leadership - Internal dynamics can feel political at times, with outcomes not always fully aligned to performance - Inconsistent application of company values across teams: strong in some areas, less visible in others - Cross-functional collaboration can be challenging, which can slow down execution

Pros

- Strong product with real enterprise value - Smart, supportive coworkers across teams - Good place to build customer-facing and cross-functional experience - Exposure to meaningful technical and commercial work

Cons

- Career growth can depend heavily on team and leadership, with internal visibility and alignment playing a big role - Strong performance does not always translate into timely promotion or compensation progression - Because Box competes in a category often viewed as commoditized, deals can be harder to win without strong technical selling - Overall employee experience can vary a lot by org
