Pros

My co-workers in my department were extremely hard-working, generous and kind! Everyone went above and beyond for the sake of our clients, and were always willing to take on extra roles whether it was recognized by management or not. Also beautiful, historic buildings.

Cons

Hostile work environment, poor management that did not seem to care about the career goals or wellbeing of employees, disorganized company structure that put a lot of stress onto employees, low pay with promises of commissions that were dangled in front of us but not always realistic, extremely micro-managed to the point I felt uncomfortable, lack of proper training, no review process, money was valued over clients, high turnover.

Pros

Different venues, different setups, different crowds, so you won't have boring days here. Good compensation. Crew that rises to any challenge and keeps the mood light while doing it. Option to pick up shifts that accommodate your schedule. Learning all about the logistics side of events pretty quickly.

Cons

Depends on the event, can be stressful to work on big ones because there are too many moving parts

Pros

The work itself may be creative and events may turn out o be exciting and well-produced. There is a high demand and speed, which means that you gain practical skills soon enough.

Cons

The work conditions were highly exhausting and cause burnouts! It is a management of narcissistic heads where ego is always the priority over teamwork, the welfare of the crew, or constructive feedback. Biases were highly evident and significantly affect the oppotunities, credit, or concessions awarded to people instead of performance or effort! The amount of responsibility, hours, and stress involved is low-paid and it's hard to rationalize the workload in the long run. High turnover and low morale are caused by long hours without much recognition and payment.
