Icertis has recently and for good reasons seen their founding CEO and CRO retire and leave the business. It's a sad state of affairs but Icertis became too comfortable with their early success. In a market where there once was five - seven years ago limited competition, it was easy to name their price. But, with the age of AI/ML Intelligence many other companies offer a similar solution and for less money. Icertis leadership for years just did not care about the competition that have finally caught up and have come up market. We lost multiple deals over pricing. The most shocking aspect of leaderships downfall was the lack of focus on customer success. This is a text book case of how to lose your clients and realizing all too late the importance of customer success management. Complicating things was a culture mismatch that still exists today with a mostly top down engineering led culture based out of India that has no clue how to sell or win competitive deals. Icertis has lost some great people and all of us that know better are not sticking around. Don't let anyone fool you on the myth of them going public because it will never happen. The current leadership is hanging around for the dream of a big payout that is not coming. Client attrition, win rates, and sellers actually attaining quotas are not in a good place. If you're looking for a position in the CLM industry you could do much better.
