Pros
Excellent benefits, PTO, with lots of learning opportunities. Tuition reimbursement as well as bonuses for certifications. Great place if you're just starting out in this industry. They have a great enrichment program for the animals and they are obviously well taken care of.
Cons
Pay freezes are common. Impossible to get promoted within department in a reasonable amount of time. Better off switching departments or leaving altogether. Very little incentive for learning more skills. Complete disconnect between upper management and employees. Technicians have crazy schedules, but that is to be expected with this type of work. Technicians are clearly looked down upon by the rest of the company, despite having the most important role in running studies.
