Benefits are great if you are planning to make it a career and move up. It's an easy job if you are willing to work. With anything, it can be an enjoyable job if the right management is in charge.

Pay! Publix is behind on paying those that are making the job a career a livable wage. Those in charge of promoting don't actually know the kind of worker they are promoting. This makes for bad management at times.
