Pros

Lots of good experience and exposure to many biz operations that you wouldn't see.

Cons

That's because decision making and the matrixed structure requires 30 sign-offs before anything can happen, drastically slowing you down. Requiring 5 days in office but also expects late night calls with HQ HR is known to lie and go out of their way to not promote internally.

Pros

-Competitive Salary -Brand clout for your resume

Cons

-Contractors/Contingent workers are treated as second class, practically disposable employees. You are very much treated as an "other." When my contract was not renewed, my agency let me know one day before the contract ended and not a single person at Samsung said a word about it. Not even the courtesy of a goodbye after nearly 2 years, let alone a thanks or good luck. -Location: Englewood Cliffs is a small enclave of Korean companies including Hyundai and LG, which are less than a mile away. Commuting is a pain with very limited options from Manhattan, most of which include a 15 minute walk from a NJ Transit bus stop. The company also arranges a charter bus service, but you pay out of pocket for this and it is double the price of NJ Transit. Neighboring non-Korean companies provide free shuttles to & from the city. -RTW: Beginning in April 5 days a week in the office is mandated for everyone.
