Pros
Meeting people Being genuinely able to help your associates through struggles in their personal lives (death of a loved one, spouse moved out, utilities shut-off, etc...) Annual MIP Bonus - Paid out in March, if employed thru the full month of January, last month of the fiscal year.
Cons
Work-life Balance is non-existent "Stuff" rolls down-hill - at field level, you are the puppets for the 8 different puppeteers above you, that don't know what the puppeteers are doing. New direction seemingly every other day, or direction from above to redo something that was just done. Company speaks out of both sides of their mouths about supporting their Store Managers, wanting them to take PTO, etc..... The Companies internal ethics and open-door process is designed to favor and protect the company (not a huge shock), and it absolutely runs that way. No true "Ownership" over your own facility, but all the consequences. Lots of red tape, lots of processes and daily activities that are over-complicated and sometimes unnecessary. Covid was awful, but it showed how well things can run when red-tape and barriers are removed and in this case, focus entirely on the Associates and Customers instead of worry about whatever metric is the flavor of the month, or whatever other nonsense they have you chasing.
