Pros

Free parking Location is nice Pay was decent

Cons

I guess I thought that working for the “medical marijuana” “for the people” law office would be a cool experience. Wrong. It was a negative, elitist, and racist environment that made me anxious and depressed. During the interview, they painted a picture of teamwork and everyone "learning the ropes together". Couldn’t have been further from the truth. They expected painstaking, tedious tasks done at a breakneck pace with no mistakes. Office environment was very catty. Worked with two paralegals; we’ll call them A and B. The one I worked directly under was A. She was totally disrespectful to everyone but the attorneys, but especially rude to me. Paralegal B on my team was nicer, but still found it acceptable to talk trash about me within earshot on two separate occasions. At least she expressed regret after paralegal A got me fired saying she didn’t understand why paralegal A was such a [redacted] to me. HR is a complete joke. Ran by a woman who has a reputation for being nasty and vindictive. She decided to let me go in the middle of the work day for my “poor performance”, making me pack my things in front of everyone while two mail clerks watched and escorted me out. Totally humiliating and unprofessional. Bottom line: Don’t work here, especially if you are a woman of color.

Pros

Great family firm; offers employees flexible hours, does things for their employees all the time including lunches, snacks, contests, etc.

Cons

A little too much micromanaging.

Pros

Nice paralegal and support people at my location. Beautiful views out the windows. Pay was decent and benefits offered immediately. Vacation time was generation though I wasn't there long enough to use it.

Cons

They didn't provide a private break room for lunch or breaks so I had to eat my lunch in my car to get some peace and quiet. Sticklers in the extreme about when you leave for the day. ex. I left 2 minutes early one day and was reprimanded by 3 different supervisors and HR. No thanks on that one. My position was very BORING. Little to do but answer phones and I averaged 60 calls a day in an eight hour day. Very boring. The attorneys were NOT friendly at all. Most wouldn't even greet me when they arrived for the day after I greeted them. Very snobbish. Not that great of benefits for how big the company is. They don't match IRA contributions at all. Low pay for the stress of dealing with some of the clients and the knowledge base needed to do the job.
